Ok for the few of you that ever hit this blog. You may or may not know that I did complete all 52 woodcuts for the year!!! in fact I was done in November. I can't believe I'm 35 woodcuts into this project, that's pretty good for just under 7 months. I really can't wait to start the new year and get crackin on my one woodcut a day project. those prints wont be quite as big, they'll probably be 15 by 20 or something like that , but one everyday is gonna be insane I can't wait! In the meantime , this one is nothing special but at least it is done!

Well I was over a week late posting this one,but I had a good excuse I was working like mad on this giant woodcut I made at Evil Prints It is 60" by 40" , my hand still hurts when I think of all that cutting in such a short time.( I basically cut the whole thing /all four blocks in about 3 days...ouch!

Ok this was supposed to be woodcut 19 , I was trying to hurry to get this done early as I was going to Chattanooga for an Outlaw Printmakers show last weekend, but I kept making bad cuts and couldnt ever salvage the shaky drawing. in the end i decided to print it just to show that I'd been working. the response ended up being favorable enough for it so maybe later I'll go back and work it up

See ! I think I can do it. this is my second woodcut for the week. i have a third one well underway! I'm getting so charged by doing this ! i had a show in New Orleans last weekend at Barristers Gallery. It was great to see Andy Antippas( the gallery owner) he's pretty much my favorite person in New Orleans. Well its been a busy week. I'm trying to finish printing the gbv posters for the upcoming shows. I put together a nice little pre order package and have sold some but i do still have plenty left... I should be more active on the blog but i'm gettin better....

Sitting around. just can't get the interest up to do much cutting on the woodblocks or printing anything so just takin pics and doin blog updates.I am getting excited about being more active on the blog though so thats something ...goin out and shootin a hundred rounds or so into some pumpkins would be kind of fun about now.... not gonna happen right now though...

So last year Nick Arnold (a printmaking friend of mine up at Syracuse) came by to visit for a few hours and he posed for some pics with my guns , when i got up to Philly for SGC last April he gave me this killer little woodcut he made from one of the pics he took of us....

Ok, We are now well into the third limited edition run of mt dew throwback, or is it the fourth counting the first version of throwback?. Anyway I gotta say that it stokes me out so much, to go into a store and be able to buy a can of Dew with that hillbilly artwork on it. I have had an ongoing battle with the need to eat versus the need to print. I used to go days without eating , just fueled by Dew and ink fumes. I never went a day out of the studio.... now i'm siting down eating a plate of sausages and a hot dog instead of printing.... I still have ink on my hands and cans of Dew but I took the time out to eat . pretty basic stuff but it gets in the way of what

Heres a bit of what we did at Yeehaw last week. We made two lsmall blue posters and a rather large one on red paper Plus i took a bunch of pictures of their shop and stuff. I had a great time with Kevin, Julie and the entire Yeehaw crew.oh yeah please note that the clown poster is almost 7 feet long ! more pics in a minute!!

I ripped down a wall in my studio and all the musty 30 year old wooden paneling in my studio. It smells a ton better and i painted every wall floor and ceiling silver. i love it in there now more than ever! I took a couple of pictures of me in there the other day sweating like a bitch at 9 in the morning with a glowing red pimple on my forehead.

Now that schools out for the summer and I am done with my SCAD program I am free to stay up late late late every night and sleep in all day like mankind was intended to do. This is the first print I made for Croc around the Clock . you can see how it used to look and now the revised version. I still will need to take another stab at the color but I like it better with the blue background altered.

heres another print for the story.I am going to have like 24 woodcuts for this book plus of course the story as well. I have a ways to go but am getting back into it these days.I should be knocking out one or more a week very soon. this one will also need to have the colors tweaked a bit before I can consider it done.
