A surprise package for Ian

When Ian was first diagnosed with Leukemia, he got great packages in the mail almost every day! It really helped to keep his, and our, spirits up. Now that we're about a year and a half into his recovery , he doesnt get stuff in the mail much anymore. but when he does, it's a lot of fun for the whole family ! Ian got a package today from a friend of mine that was loaded with bags of delicious home made cookies, toys, microwave corn on the cob popcorn!!! and more !!! Thanks so much Lindsey!!!

It's about time we started a family blog

After many years and many half hearted attempts , we finally have a blog for the whole family! I am in the process of updating my website.  I wanted to really emphasize just how important my family is in relation to everything I do as an artist. There are a lot of places to look if you want to see pictures of my artwork, this is really about all the stuff we do together as a family.

Last month back in April we went on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas as Ians' Make a Wish.
Most people that know me know that  our seven year old Ian has been battling Leukemia  for about a year and a half.I'll be writing more about the cruise, and more about Ian in future posts but for now I just wanna go upstairs and hang with the whole family....

Switching over to Tumblr click here to go now

Ok for the few of you that ever hit this blog. You may or may not know that I did complete all 52 woodcuts for the year!!! in fact I was done in November. I've been giving it a lot of thought and I guess I'm gonna switch on over to Tumblr, as I move forward to next years project. the 366 project. I'll be doing one 15" by 20" woodcut a day for the whole year. plus it's a leap year so I get to do 366 woodcuts next year!!! like this year ,I'll be updating on facebook, twitter and my website, but I think Tumblr is better for my purposes than this blog, I guess I can always switch back if I change my mind anyway right..... ok see ya at Tumblr or facebook
thanks Sean

Week 30 Woodcut 35 Speed Kills

I can't believe I'm 35 woodcuts into this project, that's pretty good for just under 7 months. I really can't wait to start the new year and get crackin on my one woodcut a day project. those prints wont be quite as big, they'll probably be 15 by 20 or something like that , but one everyday is gonna be insane I can't wait! In the meantime , this one is nothing special but at least it is done!

Week 14 Woodcut 19 For real

Ok I got back from Chattanooga and did this in one day, this is another one that would really benefit from the multiblock treatment , and maybe in afew days I'll get around to it in the meantime this is done 30" by 20 " like all the rest....

Week 14 Woodcut 19- REJECT

Ok this was supposed to be woodcut 19 , I was trying to hurry to get this done early as I was going to Chattanooga for an Outlaw Printmakers show last weekend, but I kept making bad cuts and couldnt ever salvage the shaky drawing. in the end i decided to print it just to show that I'd been working. the response ended up being favorable enough for it so maybe later I'll go back and work it up into a color woodcut and see if I can save it until then this has been rejected....

Week 13 Woodcut 18

Ok , heres the story on this one, I made this image originally for Yeehaw Industries they ended up using it for a tshirt graphic. they still have the original block, so i thought I'd just pretty much do the same thing over again so I could use the block in my installations. I had tried to develop it into more of a narrative image than the first attempt, I was gonna make it a swamp scene i had a standup bass playing rabbit in there plus the mouse and even had a couple of turtles, but i screwed up some of the imporatnt cuts and ended up just cutting all that junk away... but I do think I'm gonna do a block with just the rabbit now ..... anyway here it is. ( 20" by 30" just like all the rest

Week 13 Woodcut 17

This one has been finished since last sunday I think, I had posted on facebook, it didnt get a lot of comments or likes. Maybe it looks too much like a rebel flag for some people , or maybe it it's just not that good. either way, it's done and I've moved on to the next woodcut anyway again it's 20" by 30"
